Hayley Dexis is looking for a Branch Apprentice to join our team based with our Bradford Team. Hayley Dexis is the largest independent distributor of engineering products and consumables in the UK. We are an equal opportunities employer, currently employing over 1,300 people who continue to be a cornerstone of our business and are fundamental to providing industry-leading customer service.
About the Branch Apprentice opportunity:
As our Branch Apprentice, you’ll be based in Bradford. We are keen for our apprentices to get a well-rounded experience of our branch, so this apprenticeship offers experience of all areas of the branch for the first time. You’ll rotate around all areas from the Warehouse, Trade Counter and Internal Sales. These are fantastic opportunities where you’ll learn all about the products we supply and the services we offer.
Our warehousing duties typically involve goods in and out, stores management, system learning and generally keeping things clean and tidy. In the office and trade counter you could be serving customers, answering the phone and e-mails, learning how to deal with all types of enquiries, chasing up parts and orders and learning all our systems and processes.
This role is ideal for candidates who have an interest in gaining valuable experience, learning our business and gaining a well-rounded understanding of what we do. You’ll be a confident communicator and willing to learn. Following successful completion of the apprenticeship, the expectation is that you will have a preference towards Customer Services / Internal Sales. You’ll have passed your GCSEs or have an equivalent qualification to be at the right standard for this role.
Successful candidates will undertake an apprenticeship likely to be in Customer Service; the level will depend on what current level of qualification you have achieved already so we are open to any level. Study and coursework hours will be offered within the working day and the duration of our apprenticeships is typically 1–2 years. Candidates can expect regular meetings and catch-ups with the course provider within working hours as well.
Working hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday (8:00 – 17:00) based on-site.
What we’re looking for:
- A keen interest in our type of business and excitement by the prospect of learning all areas.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Able to travel to work and based locally.
- No prior experience required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Logical thinking skills and keen attention to detail.
- Well-presented and enthusiastic about building a career.
Competitive apprenticeship salary of £17,056. Business Administration or Customer Service Apprenticeship Course to Level 1, 2 or 3. From 23 days annual leave (plus public/bank holidays) increased with length of service. In-house training provided through Hayley Inspire. Company pension. Free death in service cover (x2 salary).
