Hayley Dexis is looking for an Apprentice – Tenders + Business Support to join our team within Strategic Contracts based at our offices in Oldbury. Hayley Dexis is the largest independent distributor of engineering products and consumables (hydraulics, bearings, fasteners, fluid power, PPE, tools, lubricants etc) in the UK. About the Apprentice – Tenders + Business Support opportunity:

This apprentice role will support the Tender Coordinator and will be working closely with the Bids and Tender Manager. The aim is to fully get you learning how to prepare bids and tenders to win work for Hayley Dexis, fully supporting our growth targets. On a daily basis you will be doing things like learning how to use different bid management software tools and applying your knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications like Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

You’ll build relationships internally across our UK branch network to gather information that can be added to bids and tenders. This could be in the form of testimonials, facts and figures, examples, product information, pricing information or business information details. This role is ideal for someone with a keen interest in business and who enjoys research and information gathering but also has a flair for writing! It’s an excellent entry-level position and introduction to Tenders, Bids and Presentations.

You’ll have achieved a GCSE grade 4 (or above) or equivalent qualification in English to be at the right standard for this role. Successful candidates will undertake an Apprenticeship course with Hayley. Study and coursework hours will be offered within the working day. Candidates also usually have regular meetings and catch-ups with the course provider within working hours.

Working hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. This is based on-site Monday to Friday.

  • No prior experience required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Logical thinking skills and keen attention to detail
  • Well-presented and enthusiastic about building a career
