Hayley Dexis, the largest independent distributor of engineering products and consumables in the UK, is looking for an apprentice to join our Strategic Contracts team in Oldbury. About the role

This apprentice role will support the Tender Coordinator and work closely with the Bids and Tender Manager. The aim is to learn how to prepare bids and tenders to win work for Hayley Dexis, fully supporting our growth targets. Daily tasks include using bid management software, applying Microsoft Office skills, building relationships across our UK branch network to gather information for bids and tenders (testimonials, facts, figures, product information, pricing, business details), and writing tenders. This role is ideal for someone with a keen interest in business, who enjoys research, information gathering, and has a flair for writing. An excellent entry-level introduction to Tenders, Bids and Presentations.

Required qualifications include a GCSE grade 4 (or above) or equivalent in English. Successful candidates will undertake an Apprenticeship course with Hayley, with study and coursework hours offered within the working day and regular meetings with the course provider.

Working hours

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based on site.

  • No prior experience required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn

  • Logical thinking skills and keen attention to detail
  • Well-presented and enthusiastic about building a career
