Responsibilities:
- Carry out inspections on materials, components and finished products to ensure they meet drawings, specifications and customer or international quality standards.
- Check quality at every stage from incoming goods to final dispatch.
- Read and interpret technical drawings or other engineering documentation to verify purchase order requirements.
- Help keep us compliant with industry standards such as ISO, EN and rail safety requirements.
- Record findings clearly and keep quality systems up to date.
- Spot issues early, raise non‑conformances and support improvements through corrective actions.
- Work closely with customer service, projects, procurement and supply chain teams to solve problems and improve quality.
- Ensure inspection tools are calibrated and used correctly at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in a quality inspection role or significant experience within engineering or manufacturing, ideally in the rail, aerospace or heavy industry sectors.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and specifications.
- Strong understanding of quality inspection techniques and measurement tools.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
- Experience identifying and managing non‑conformances and corrective actions.
