Job Type: Permanent Location: Competitive Salary & Benefits We're excited to offer a brilliant opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter based at our Great Yarmouth facility working within the Defence side of our business; What we're looking for in our Mechanical Fitter The Mechanical Fitter role is based at our facility in Great Yarmouth. This role is responsible for programming, setting up and running CNC milling machines along with the precision assembly of x-ray equipment and mechanical construction both in house and on site, You'll ensure all safety practices and procedures are followed in the workshop. You also monitor and control hazardous waste including record keeping of deposits and disposals. The supervision of support contractors for general assembly is also a key aspect of the role as well as ensuring work is completed to the design / quality standards specified. You'll work closely with a range of stakeholder including the mechanical design office and make sure all documentation is complete in line with the relevant stage-gate and task status. Assisting with safe handling heavy items, stock control, packing and other duties along with supporting off-site work falls within the role. What we're looking for in our Mechanical Fitter Educated to City & Guilds or equivalent in mechanical engineering discipline. Experience working in precision engineering/mechanical assembly environment. CNC programming skills Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Office suite. Familiar with industry standards and general ISO9001 quality requirements. Broad knowledge of mechanical engineering practice together with a high level of ‘hands on skill and competency. Awareness, general knowledge and implementation of Health and Safety procedures. Proficient using workshop tools and standard metrology instruments for accurate measurement and quality control. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and determine appropriate assembly sequences, including working independently of detailed assembly drawings when required. Knowledge of safe and effective dismantling procedures for machinery and mechanical systems. Skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues related to the assembly and integration of mechanical components.
