About the role
The Electrical Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical control and safety systems within our Digital Industrial Digital Radiography Systems.
You’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day control, coordination, and running of electrical design, production and development within the Systems team. You’ll also have overall control of CAD drafting facilities.
During a typical day you could be leading design work, costing specifications, and providing technical support to the sales team. You will also provide off‑site support on occasion.
The ideal candidate will have excellent project management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across Electronics, Mechanical and Software departments. You will bring a continuous improvement mindset, experience as an electrical design and development engineer, and be an experienced CAD user with a high level of computer literacy.
What we’re looking for in our Electrical Controls Engineer
- Excellent project management skills
- Educated to degree level in electrical engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.
- Excellent communication skills capable of dealing with staff from general hands, up to senior management level.
- Capable of developing original concepts based on current state of the art technology.
- High level of computer literacy, familiar with Microsoft Office.
- Experienced user of development CAD package.
- Capable of producing comprehensive design/product documentation including schematics, specifications and manuals.
- Good knowledge of all aspects of analogue and digital signal processing technology.
- Knowledge of relevant machinery and electrical safety standards.
- Familiar with firmware and software generation.
- Familiar with industry standards and general ISO9001 quality requirements.
- Strategic and analytical thinker
- Understand the requirements for inherently safe/failsafe design
