We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family & Private Children’s Law Solicitor to join our esteemed legal team. The successful candidate will possess expertise in family law, with a focus on child-related cases, to provide high-quality legal advice and representation. This role requires someone who is client-focused, empathetic, and skilled at navigating sensitive matters.
Location : Fakenham, Holt or Sheringham
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Type: Hybrid available with requirement for 2 days in office

We specialise in multiple areas of law including Commercial and Residential Conveyancing, Family Law, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Administration of Estates, Wills and Trusts, Inheritance Tax advice and Estate Planning, Elderly Client Services, Employment Law, Business and Company Law, Dispute Resolution, and Agricultural Law.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage a diverse caseload of family and private children law matters, including divorce, child arrangements, adoption, and guardianship.
- Provide clear, practical, and tailored legal advice to clients, ensuring their best interests are upheld.
- Represent clients in court and liaise effectively with barristers, court officials, and other legal professionals.
- Draft and review legal documents, including court applications, witness statements, and agreements.
- Stay updated on changes in family law legislation and case law.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, offering support during emotionally challenging circumstances.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to ensure smooth case progression.
- Comply with regulatory and compliance standards, including those set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
Requirements :
- Qualified Solicitor with a valid practising certificate in England and Wales.
- Proven experience in family and children law, including advocacy experience in family courts.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and Family Law Act 1996.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to handle sensitive cases with empathy and professionalism.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- A commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients, particularly in child-related cases.
- Membership or accreditation with Resolution or the Law Society’s Family Law or Children Law Panels.
- Ability to network and contribute to business development initiatives.
