Are you an organised, technically minded lighting professional who enjoys keeping projects moving, solving technical queries, and acting as the link between sales, clients, and the factory?
We’re looking for a Project Manager / Technical Sales Support specialist to join a growing lighting business in an office-based role covering project coordination, technical support, specification work, and factory liaison.
This is a varied position suited to someone who understands lighting products, enjoys detail, and can bring structure and clarity to multiple live projects.
- What you’ll be doing
- Coordinating and managing the progression of live projects across the sales team, helping to keep timelines, deliverables, and client expectations on track.
- Maintaining oversight of multiple concurrent projects, identifying risks or bottlenecks early, and escalating where needed.
- Supporting the team as the business scales by helping to structure workflows and improve processes.
- Technical support and specification work
- Acting as the primary technical resource for the internal sales and administration team.
- Handling product and specification queries, interpreting technical documentation, and ensuring accurate information is shared across the team.
- Producing and maintaining specification sheets and supporting the creation of technically sound, client-facing outputs.
- Providing occasional support with quotations where required, while remaining focused on technical support rather than sales administration.
- Factory liaison
- Managing technical communication with the factory at pre-order stage, including confirming specifications, resolving product configuration queries, and ensuring orders are technically complete before processing.
- Maintaining communication post-order on agreed projects, coordinating with the factory on progress, lead times, and technical amendments.
- Working within the framework agreed by the Technical Director to ensure factory engagement is aligned with commercial decisions already in place.
About you
- You have a background in the lighting industry and a practical working knowledge of lighting products and specifications.
- You are confident interpreting technical documentation and creating accurate specification sheets.
- You’re highly organised, commercially aware, and comfortable managing several projects at once.
- You have strong Excel skills and good general IT competency.
- You enjoy being the person who brings clarity, structure, and momentum to a busy team.
- Location
This is an office-based role in the South Midlands, ideally suited to someone living within reach of areas such as Milton Keynes, Bedford, Leicester, Daventry, or Wellingborough.
