Regulatory Affairs Manager in England

The successful candidate may be appointed at either Regulatory Affairs Manager or Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist level, depending on their directly relevant industry experience, regulatory expertise and ability to independently manage international compliance projects.

The Regulatory Affairs Manager / Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist will support the international market access and regulatory compliance of the company’s vaping, e-cigarette and nicotine-related products. The role will focus on researching and interpreting regulatory requirements across global markets, identifying applicable product testing and registration requirements, coordinating with overseas laboratories and regulatory organisations, and providing practical compliance guidance to Product Development, R&D and Marketing teams. This is a regulatory interpretation and compliance project role rather than a laboratory testing or instrument-operation position.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, monitor and interpret vaping, e-cigarette and nicotine-product regulations, policies and technical standards across the UK, Europe, the United States, the Middle East and other target markets.
• Maintain clear and organised regulatory information and advise internal stakeholders on market-entry, product-testing, registration and documentation requirements.
• Liaise with overseas laboratories, testing providers, regulatory consultants and relevant external organisations to confirm applicable standards, testing scopes, required documents and project timelines.
• Coordinate and monitor product testing, notification and registration projects, identify documentation or compliance gaps, and follow up on outstanding actions.
• Review testing plans, reports and supporting documents to confirm that they are appropriate and sufficiently complete for the intended regulatory or market-access purpose.
• Provide practical regulatory guidance to Product Development, R&D, Quality and Supply Chain teams to help ensure that products meet target-market requirements.
• Review product packaging, labelling, warnings, descriptions and marketing claims from a regulatory-compliance perspective.
• Prepare regulatory summaries, internal guidance, compliance updates and training materials, and deliver regular compliance training to relevant teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Regulatory Affairs, Chemistry, Toxicology, Pharmacy, Engineering, Tobacco Science, Law or another relevant discipline.
• Relevant experience in regulatory affairs, product compliance, product registration, certification, regulatory consultancy or international market access.
• Direct experience involving vaping, e-cigarette, tobacco, nicotine or closely related regulated products.
• In-depth understanding of e-cigarette/vaping regulations and registration procedures in at least one target region (UK, EU, US, or Middle East).
• Familiarity with TPD-related requirements, UK vaping-product requirements and applicable US FDA requirements.
• Experience interpreting regulations and technical standards and translating them into product-testing, documentation or market-entry requirements.
• Experience coordinating laboratories, testing organisations, certification bodies, regulatory consultants or client regulatory projects.
• Ability to understand and review test scopes, technical reports and compliance documents. Direct operation of laboratory equipment is not required.
• Experience providing regulatory guidance to product-development, technical or commercial teams.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Desirable Experience

• Direct experience with TPD, EU-CEG, MHRA vaping-product notification, FDA/PMTA or Middle Eastern registration projects.
• Previous employment with a testing laboratory, certification organisation, regulatory consultancy or electronic-cigarette manufacturer.
• Experience supporting inhalation devices, nicotine-delivery devices or nicotine-replacement-related products.
