Hay Hill Wealth Management Limited, a Mayfair based wealth management boutique, is seeking a highly motivated Junior Portfolio Manager to support portfolio management activities across our strategies. This role is ideal for an early-career investment professional seeking hands‑on exposure to portfolio construction, security selection, risk management, and client reporting, with a clear pathway for progression. The successful candidate will work closely with senior portfolio managers within the investment team, contributing to investment research, monitoring portfolios, and helping ensure portfolios are managed in line with client mandates and investment objectives. No requirement for transferable book. Salary Range: £50k-60k based on experience. Competitive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior portfolio managers in the day‑to‑day management of client portfolios
- Assist in portfolio construction, rebalancing, and trade execution
- Conduct fundamental research on equities, funds, and other instruments as required
- Monitor portfolio performance, risk metrics, and attribution analysis
- Prepare regular portfolio reports and investment commentary for internal and client use
- Assist with cash management, compliance checks, and operational coordination
- Maintain investment models, valuation tools, and internal databases
- Contribute to investment committee discussions and idea generation
- Support responses to client and prospect queries alongside the relationship team
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in investment management, asset management, or a related role
- Strong understanding of portfolio management concepts, asset allocation, and risk management
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- High level of proficiency in Excel; experience with portfolio systems a plus
- Ability to interpret financial statements and investment research
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgement
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a small, high-accountability environment
Qualifications
- University degree
- Minimum CISI Level 4 qualification
- CISI Level 6/7 or equivalent CFA is desirable
