- Being a HLTA requires a certain set of skills and expertise.

- The ability to break down activities into small steps and step teaching.
- A team player, willing to work closely with likeminded people who all have the children’s best interest at heart.
- Someone who is able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in child development and the curriculum.
- Passionate about enhancing each child’s experiences and building upon their learning.
- Someone who is able to ‘step in’ to support the Class Teacher as and when needed, this may be supporting small groups of children or leading whole class activities.
- We are looking for someone who is able to work flexibly, who is adaptable and able to work in line with the needs of the school and the children who attend.
