Agricultural Solicitor

Location: York (hybrid and flexible working)

Salary: £55,000 to £80,000

Experience: 2+ years PQE

Our client is expanding and is open to speaking with solicitors from around 2 years PQE upwards (and potentially slightly below for the right person). You will be part of a collaborative environment with accessible senior support, clear progression, and the chance to develop your expertise across a broad range of rural and agricultural matters.

You will advise a varied client base including landowners, farmers, estates, rural businesses and developers on a mix of transactional and advisory work. The role offers plenty of scope to broaden your technical experience, take on more complex matters over time, and build a sustainable, long-term career.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing your own matters with appropriate supervision and support

• Advising on sales and purchases of farms, estates and rural property

• Supporting on agricultural tenancies and related landlord and tenant matters

• Advising on easements, rights of way and access issues

• Supporting on development and strategic land matters (including options and overage)

• Advising rural business clients on day-to-day property issues and transactions

• Building and strengthening relationships with existing and new clients

• Delivering excellent client care and contributing to business development activity

What We’re Looking For

• A qualified Solicitor with 2+ years PQE in agricultural property, rural property, or a closely related property discipline

• Comfortable managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision

• Strong drafting skills and a practical, client-focused approach

• A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in being part of a growing team

• Confidence building relationships and getting involved in networking and business development

Working Arrangements

Hybrid and flexible working are available. The role is based in York, outside of the city centre, parking and local amenities available. Other locations around North Yorkshire will be considered.
