The Role

We are seeking a motivated Tax / Accounts Senior to join a busy Macclesfield office in a varied role supporting both the accounts and tax teams. This position offers broad exposure across a mixed client base, combining accounts preparation, personal tax, VAT, and support on wider compliance and advisory work. You will also be involved in supporting clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements, helping ensure records are maintained correctly and deadlines are met.

What you will be doing:

  • Preparing sole trader and partnership accounts
  • Assisting with the preparation of limited company accounts
  • Completing self-assessment tax returns
  • Assisting with VAT returns
  • Liaising with clients to gather financial information and documentation
  • Supporting senior team members with tax compliance and advisory work
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring deadlines are met

What we are looking for:

  • AAT qualified as a minimum
  • Experience preparing sole trader accounts and working with client financial records
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Confident communication skills, able to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Proactive, reliable, and comfortable working collaboratively within a team
