About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established accountancy practice in Wilmslow, is experiencing exciting growth and is seeking an experienced Tax Senior to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong tax professional who thrives in a small-to-medium sized practice environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting senior accountants and partners with technical tax queries, whilst managing their own diverse portfolio of private clients. This position offers genuine variety, client interaction, and the opportunity to work across a broad range of tax matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day personal tax compliance for a portfolio of individuals, including high-net-worth clients, business owners, and directors
- Prepare and review self-assessment tax returns, utilising and supervising junior team members where appropriate
- Provide technical advice to colleagues and clients on capital gains tax, VAT, and aspects of corporation tax
- Meet with prospective personal tax compliance clients to understand their needs and assess service requirements
- Liaise effectively with HMRC on client matters, managing all correspondence professionally
- Assist senior managers and directors with tax advisory projects
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Solid background in a broad range of UK taxes, ideally gained within UK practice
- ATT qualified or QBE/CTA part-qualified/qualified
- Pro-active, detail-oriented approach with strong technical capabilities
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable working directly with clients and supporting colleagues in an advisory capacity
- Experience using IRIS software would be beneficial, but not essential
