Lead Corporate Transactions in a Dynamic Commercial Practice

Our client, a well-established and highly regarded commercial law firm with offices in Liverpool and Manchester, is seeking a Senior Corporate Solicitor at Senior Associate or Partner level to join their thriving Liverpool office. This is an excellent opportunity to manage your own caseload of corporate and commercial matters, develop your personal brand, and play a key role in the continued growth of a forward-thinking practice.

The Role

As a Senior Corporate Solicitor, you will manage your own diverse caseload of corporate and commercial matters acting for a broad range of clients including SMEs, owner-managed businesses, institutional clients, and financial sector organisations across multiple industries. You will have the autonomy to run your matters from start to finish whilst also contributing to business development and the strategic growth of the corporate team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a varied caseload of corporate and commercial transactions
  • Advising on mergers and acquisitions, business sales and purchases, and corporate restructuring
  • Handling shareholder agreements, articles of association, and corporate governance matters
  • Advising on commercial contracts, joint ventures, and partnership agreements
  • Supporting clients with corporate finance transactions and fundraising
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and delivering exceptional client service
  • Building your network of business and professional contacts in the Merseyside area
  • Contributing to business development and the growth of the corporate practice
  • Mentoring and supervising junior team members as required
  • Playing an active role in the strategic development of the practice

About You

Essential Requirements:

  • 6 years PQE
  • Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales
  • Proven experience in corporate and commercial law
  • Demonstrable track record of managing your own caseload independently
  • Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of corporate transactions
  • Experience advising SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and institutional clients
  • Excellent client care skills with a proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ambition and drive to develop your personal brand and contribute to the firm's growth
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and drafting skills
  • Commercially astute with a pragmatic approach to transactions

Highly Desirable:

  • Existing client following (though not essential)
  • Strong network of business and professional contacts in the Merseyside area
  • Business development experience and a proactive approach to generating new work
  • Experience in a senior or leadership role within a corporate team
  • Experience in corporate finance and fundraising transactions
