Are you an experienced employment solicitor ready for a senior role in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team? Our client’s Reading-based practice offers the chance to handle complex, high-profile employment matters for both Claimants and Respondents, with a clear pathway to further progression.
The Role: Advise, Advocate, Advance
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, including advocacy in tribunal
- Advise clients (by phone, in person, and in writing) on contracts, policies, disciplinaries, grievances, TUPE, restructuring, data protection, and more
- Draft legal documentation (claims, responses, witness statements, submissions) and conduct negotiations
- Project manage client assignments, including restructures and strategic HR projects
- Support helpline queries and contribute to the firm’s online HR resource
- Drive business development through events, networking, and know-how initiatives
- Collaborate with the Tech Hub and HR consultancy teams
- Efficiently bill files and manage time effectively
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor with valid Law Society Practising Certificate
- 6+ years’ PQE in employment law (UK practice)
- Strong track record in advocacy and tribunal work (complex claims, discrimination, equal pay, protected disclosures)
- Excellent drafting, research, and technical skills
- Consistently strong academic background (min 2:1 degree, A/B at A-levels or equivalent)
- Proficient with Word, Outlook, and case management systems
- Commercial curiosity and enthusiasm for business development
- Outstanding time management and communication skills
