This is a strong opportunity for an experienced litigation solicitor to step into a Head of Litigation position within a growing, forward-thinking firm. Our client is looking for someone who can combine hands-on fee earning with day-to-day leadership of a small but busy litigation team, maintaining high standards of client care and driving matters forward efficiently. You will take ownership of the Litigation offering, supporting the wider firm while developing the team and ensuring files are progressed proactively. The role is suited to someone who enjoys responsibility, can mentor others, and is confident dealing with a broad spread of contentious work.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supporting a small, busy litigation team across a range of dispute matters
- Managing your own caseload from instruction through to conclusion
- Advising clients clearly and commercially, with a practical approach to risk and outcomes
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, applications, correspondence and settlement documentation
- Negotiating settlements and progressing matters efficiently, including where court timetables apply
- Ensuring strong file management, time recording, and compliance with internal processes
- Supporting business development through networking and relationship building
- Helping to maintain and improve systems and ways of working, including use of case management technology
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years PQE with strong civil/commercial litigation experience
- Evidence of leadership, supervision, or the ability to step into a management role
- Confidence running matters independently with appropriate support
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
- Commercial mindset and excellent client care
- Strong organisation and time management in a busy environment
- Comfortable using IT systems and case management tools
