Our client is looking to recruit an Employment Solicitor (Senior Associate) to join their Northampton office as part of the next phase of growth for the team. This is a leadership-leaning role for someone who is confident running matters independently and is ready to take on more responsibility in team development. You’ll have the chance to shape how the team works, support junior colleagues, and play a visible part in growing the practice. A willingness to get involved in business development is helpful, but the real focus is on leadership, strong client relationships, and the ability to engage with new contacts and the wider firm.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You will handle a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment work, acting for employer clients and also supporting employee matters. Work is likely to include:
- Settlement agreements
- Advisory work on restructures, changes to terms and conditions, and redundancy programmes
- Strategic advice in connection with senior leadership and board-level disputes
- Day-to-day operational HR advice
- Support on data protection and employment-related compliance
- Modern Slavery Act compliance support
- Employment Tribunal representation
- Corporate support on employment aspects of M&A activity
What We’re Looking For
- Ideally 5+ years PQE (as a guide)
- Strong technical employment law experience across contentious and non-contentious matters
- Comfortable managing your own caseload from instruction to completion
- Some experience mentoring, supervising, or training others
- Commercial approach and confidence building relationships with new and existing clients
- Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-led mindset
