The Opportunity:
As a senior member of the Tax Consultancy team, you will lead the delivery of complex advisory projects while supporting the firm's wider growth and development objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a wide range of Private Client Tax advisory projects
- Provide bespoke advice relating to:
- Inheritance Tax (IHT)
- Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
- Income Tax Planning
- Trusts and Estates
- Succession Planning
- Family Wealth Preservation
- Business Asset Disposal Relief
- Property Tax Matters
- Work closely with Tax Partners to develop and implement strategic tax solutions
- Identify planning opportunities across the existing client portfolio
- Manage client relationships and act as the primary adviser on advisory engagements
- Prepare and agree project scopes, budgets and fee proposals
- Ensure appropriate risk management and quality control procedures are followed
- Support multi-disciplinary projects alongside Audit, Business Services, Financial Planning and Corporate Finance teams
- Drive business development initiatives and contribute towards office and service line growth targets
- Mentor, coach and develop Tax Seniors and Assistant Managers
- Undertake formal line management responsibilities and support talent development across the team
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a highly technical and commercially aware tax professional who can act as a trusted adviser to both clients and colleagues.
Essential Requirements
- CTA qualified (or equivalent professional tax qualification)
- 8+ years' UK Practice experience within Private Client Tax
- Proven experience delivering complex tax advisory assignments
- Strong knowledge of:
- Inheritance Tax (IHT)
- Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
- Income Tax Planning
- Trusts and Estates
- Succession and Wealth Planning
- Experience managing high-net-worth individuals, business owners and complex family structures
- Strong commercial awareness and business development capability
- Experience managing budgets, fee targets and project profitability
- Proven staff management and team leadership experience
- Excellent client-facing, presentation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively
Desirable Requirements
- STEP qualification or membership
- Experience working with landed estates, family investment companies or complex trust structures
- Strong professional network within the Yorkshire and North East market
- Experience supporting strategic growth initiatives and winning new advisory work
