The Role
This is a great opportunity for an Accounts Semi Senior to join a supportive accounts team, working on a varied portfolio and building strong technical foundations across year-end accounts and VAT. You will support the wider team in preparing financial statements (including micro-entity and FRS reporting where applicable) and completing VAT returns, while developing your skills and progressing your career within practice.
What you will be doing:
- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Supporting the preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
- Preparing VAT returns and assisting with related queries
- Managing day-to-day client tasks, ensuring work is accurate, compliant and delivered on time
- Communicating with clients professionally by phone and email, gathering information and resolving queries
- Working closely with senior colleagues to meet agreed timelines and budgets
- Contributing to team improvements and efficient workflows
- Keeping your technical knowledge up to date and meeting CPD requirements
What we are looking for:
- Part-qualified AAT, ACA or ACCA (or equivalent), or actively studying towards qualification
- 3 to 4 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Confident client-facing communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong Excel skills and good general Microsoft Office capability
- Excellent organisation and time management, able to handle multiple deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality
- A dependable, self-motivated approach, comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- High levels of confidentiality and a professional, ethical approach
