Our client is looking to recruit a Legal Director into its Manchester Infrastructure, Projects and Energy team, as part of an ongoing growth strategy. This is a senior role for a lawyer who enjoys complex, high-profile mandates across social infrastructure, energy and utilities, and transport. You will advise on commercial contracts and transaction delivery, work closely with a broad client base (including developers, funds and financial institutions), and play an active role in shaping team strategy, nurturing talent and driving business development.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Advising clients across the energy, utilities, transport and wider infrastructure sectors on complex mandates
- Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and project documentation
- Managing transaction processes and coordinating input from colleagues across relevant disciplines
- Advising on the full spectrum of issues arising on energy and transport sector mandates
- Leading workstreams, supervising junior colleagues and ensuring high-quality delivery against deadlines
- Supporting business development through networking, client relationship management and training initiatives
- Contributing to the wider development of the group, including know-how, precedents and internal training
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales
- 8+ years’ PQE with strong experience in infrastructure, projects, energy and or transport work
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills with a commercial, solutions-led approach
- Confidence managing complex transactions and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong client-facing skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
- A proactive approach to mentoring and developing junior talent
Desirable
- Strong experience advising energy-side clients on a national level
- Experience spanning a mix of public and private sector mandates
