Join a specialist asset finance litigation team. Our client, a well-established and highly regarded commercial law firm with offices in Liverpool and Manchester, is seeking a Finance Litigation Lawyer (3 PQE level) to join their busy Creditor Services department specialising in asset finance litigation and recoveries. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a good finance client caseload with excellent opportunities to progress even without an existing client following.
You will manage your own caseload of asset finance litigation and debt recovery matters from start to finish, working closely with the Creditor Services team. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with established finance clients whilst also contributing to the development of the client base. The role offers genuine progression opportunities and the chance to work with a supportive team on high-quality finance litigation work.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a recoveries caseload from start to finish with full responsibility for case progression
- Handling asset finance litigation and debt recovery matters for finance clients
- Advising on asset recovery, repossession, enforcement, and litigation strategies
- Conducting litigation in the County Court and High Court
- Impressing and building strong relationships with current clients
- Assisting in developing the client base and contributing to business development
- Hitting financial targets and managing matters profitably
- Assisting, developing, supervising, and training the team of solicitors and paralegals
- Responding promptly to requests for updates and information from the team leader, clients, and introducers
- Generally supporting and assisting a busy and dynamic team
- Working diligently towards court and client deadlines
- Providing commercially focused and pragmatic advice to finance clients
About You
Essential Requirements:
- 3 years PQE experience in commercial finance recovery work
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales
- Proven experience in asset finance litigation, debt recovery, or creditor services
- Demonstrable experience in working diligently towards court and client deadlines
- Strong technical knowledge of asset finance, security enforcement, and recovery procedures
- Experience conducting litigation in the County Court and High Court
- Excellent organisation, time management, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Excellent client care skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships
- A personable and hard-working nature
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
Highly Desirable:
- Experience acting for asset finance lenders, invoice finance providers, or other financial institutions
- Knowledge of hire purchase, leasing, and asset-based lending
- Experience with insolvency and enforcement procedures
