Paralegal / Fee Earner (Industrial Disease)
Location: Leeds
Salary: £28,000 to £40,000 (depending on experience)
Experience: 1 to 2 years’ experience handling litigated industrial disease claims

Our client is looking for an experienced Industrial Disease Paralegal or Fee Earner to join a busy, supportive team handling a varied mix of pre-litigation and litigated matters.
The caseload will include industrial disease claims such as noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS), repetitive strain injury (RSI) and respiratory conditions.
This role suits someone who is comfortable taking ownership of files, keeping matters moving, and balancing high standards of client care with the practical realities of deadlines, limitation, and costs.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing your own caseload of pre-litigation and litigated industrial disease claims
- Handling claims involving NIHL, HAVS, RSI and respiratory conditions
- Assessing liability, causation and quantum
- Reviewing medical evidence, employment records and other key documentation
- Drafting correspondence, witness statements and court documents
- Conducting settlement negotiations
- Working in line with the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant court directions
- Monitoring limitation dates and managing internal and external deadlines
- Keeping clients updated throughout the life of the claim
- Maintaining accurate, compliant case records
- Working towards agreed performance and costs targets
- Supporting the wider Industrial Disease team as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 1 to 2 years’ experience handling litigated industrial disease claims
- A good working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
- Experience managing multi-track litigation
- Strong negotiation skills
- Experience working towards and achieving costs or billing targets
- Ability to manage and prioritise a caseload independently
- Claimant experience is preferred, but relevant defendant experience will also be considered
