Our client is continuing to grow and is looking to recruit a senior finance lawyer at Managing Associate or Counsel level to support its Housing and Transition Finance Group in Leeds. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to step into a senior role within a market-leading team, with the chance to take real ownership of matters, build client relationships, and play a key part in the continued growth of the practice. The Housing and Transition Finance Group is widely regarded as a market leader in the social housing sector. The team advises a diverse client base including housing associations, registered providers, funders and investors on high-value, complex transactions. Alongside core finance transactions, the team also supports finance clients on wholesale financing, product development, and government and regulatory engagement in response to policy shifts.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Complex social housing finance transactions across the UK
  • Education and healthcare financings
  • Impact finance transactions, including structures that combine debt and equity
  • Transition finance work across a broad range of asset classes, including:
    • Digital infrastructure and data centres
    • Renewables and clean(er) energy
    • Large-scale real estate retrofit
    • Industrial platforms and decarbonisation
    • Circular economy assets
    • Natural capital
    • Sustainable and synthetic fuel sources
    • Agri-tech and climate-resilient food systems
    • Water security infrastructure
    • Flood defence and coastal resilience systems

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales
  • 5+ years’ PQE with strong finance experience and a solid understanding of transaction fundamentals
  • Confident leading transactions and supervising more junior lawyers
  • Strong drafting skills, including the ability to handle bespoke documents where required
  • Commercial mindset and a client-focused approach

Desirable:

  • Strong familiarity with LMA-style documentation (with the confidence to adapt rather than rely on precedents)
  • Interest in building a market profile and developing your network

What’s On Offer:

  • Salary of £95,000 to £125,000 + bonus and benefits
  • Senior-level role in a thriving, well-established team with a strong reputation in the sector
  • High calibre work at the heart of solving the UK’s housing challenge
  • Exposure to innovative transition finance matters with a genuinely broad asset-class mix
  • A supportive, collegiate culture where ambitious lawyers are encouraged to succeed
