Our client is looking to hire an Employee Incentives Lawyer at Managing Associate level into its Employee Incentives and Corporate Tax offering in Leeds. This is a high-quality role for someone who enjoys a mix of advisory and transactional support work, and who wants to work closely with partners on complex, fast-moving matters for a broad client base, from owner-managed businesses through to multinational organisations. You’ll advise on the design, implementation and operation of remuneration structures and incentive plans, and you’ll support corporate teams on transactions where incentives and executive arrangements are a key workstream.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Advising on the drafting and implementation of tax-advantaged and non tax-advantaged share schemes, including growth shares, JSOP, EMI, CSOP and LTIP
- Advising on both the corporate and tax aspects of implementing share plans and incentive arrangements
- Providing regulatory, governance and compliance advice connected to incentives and benefits
- Drafting and advising on employee communications relating to incentive plans
- Supporting on public and private corporate transactions, including M&A and wider corporate activity
- Managing your own matters with appropriate partner support, and supporting on larger, more complex workstreams
- Contributing to business development and helping to build relationships with new and existing clients
- Supporting the training and development of trainees and junior lawyers
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales
- 5+ years’ PQE with strong experience in employee incentives and share schemes
- Experience across both public and private company work
- Ability to provide clear, practical advice and manage matters efficiently
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders
- A collaborative approach and interest in contributing to team growth
Desirable
- Experience gained in a leading law firm and or accountancy practice
- Experience advising on employee benefit trusts and executive tax planning, including internationally mobile executives
