Our client is looking to recruit a Criminal Defence Paralegal to join a busy and well-regarded criminal defence team. The firm is known for developing talent and giving people real exposure to cases, alongside modern ways of working and a supportive, team-led culture. What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting fee earners on a broad range of criminal defence matters
- Assisting with file progression from initial instruction through to conclusion
- Taking instructions and maintaining proactive client communication
- Drafting and preparing correspondence, attendance notes and supporting documentation
- Assisting with case preparation, including evidence review and document management
- Liaising with police stations, courts, CPS, counsel and other third parties as required
- Preparing bundles and supporting hearing preparation
- Maintaining accurate, well-organised files and ensuring deadlines are met
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a criminal defence paralegal role is preferred
- Police Station Accreditation is ideal, or a genuine willingness to work towards it
- Strong organisation and the ability to work calmly under pressure
- Professional, client-focused approach, with discretion and good judgement
- Confident written communication and attention to detail
- Good IT skills and comfort working with case management systems
