Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their Harrogate area office and play a key role in delivering exceptional accounts, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base. The Opportunity
As a Senior Accountant, you will manage your own portfolio of clients while supporting the development of junior team members and providing high-quality accounting and advisory services to a broad range of owner-managed businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and take ownership of a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors
- Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies
- Prepare and review management accounts and financial reporting packs
- Prepare and review personal tax returns
- Prepare and review partnership accounts and tax returns
- Review and submit VAT returns
- Support clients with business planning, forecasting and advisory projects
- Attend client meetings and build strong relationships with business owners and directors
- Provide mentoring, training and support to junior team members
- Assist with identifying opportunities to add value and expand client relationships
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- ACA or ACCA qualified with a strong UK practice background
- Ideally 1+ years' post-qualified experience (PQE)
- Experienced Accounts Senior ready to step up or an established Senior Accountant seeking further progression
- ACCA/ACA finalists with substantial relevant experience will also be considered
- Minimum 4-6 years' UK accountancy practice experience preferred
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients independently
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP FRS 102
- Personal and partnership taxation
- VAT compliance and reporting
- Experience using accounting software such as IRIS (highly desirable), Sage, Xero, QuickBooks
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Ability to prepare and review complex financial statements
