If you’re an organised, confident Conveyancing Assistant who enjoys keeping matters moving and supporting a busy team, this is a great opportunity to join a well-established Residential team in Harrogate. Our client is looking for a Conveyancing Assistant to provide cost-effective support to the Team Leader and fee earners within the Residential department. You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of matters, helping ensure clients receive a smooth, professional service from start to finish.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the Team Leader and fee earners with day-to-day conveyancing administration and client communication.
  • Undertaking supervised fee earning tasks, including:
    • File creation
    • Generating client care correspondence
    • Completing client questionnaires
    • Handling routine client enquiries and communications wherever possible
    • Collating matter start and matter completion data
    • Deputising for the designated fee earner in their absence, escalating urgent issues to a senior fee earner as needed
    • Helping ensure matters progress efficiently, with clients kept updated on progress and costs
    • Maintaining high standards of client care in a professional, pleasant manner
    • Ensuring confidentiality and security of client and firm information
    • Working in line with the firm’s procedures, quality standards and compliance requirements
    • Supporting marketing and business development activity alongside the Head of Department
    • Maintaining clear communication with colleagues and building good working relationships externally

  • Previous experience supporting a residential conveyancing team (or similar legal support role)
  • Confident dealing with routine client enquiries in a professional way
  • Strong organisation skills, with good diary management and attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable working to procedures and quality standards
  • A pleasant but assertive manner, with tact and resilience
  • Competent using case management systems and standard office IT
