Overview
We are supporting a well-established accountancy practice in Doncaster to recruit an Audit Senior. This role sits within a friendly, high-performing audit team and offers a strong mix of hands-on fieldwork, file completion, and day-to-day client contact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead audit assignments on-site and remotely, from planning through to completion
- Prepare and review audit working papers, ensuring files are accurate, well-evidenced, and completed to standard
- Support audit planning, including risk assessment, materiality, and audit programmes
- Draft audit findings and contribute to clear, practical points for management letters
- Liaise directly with clients to request information, resolve queries, and keep work moving to deadlines
- Supervise and support junior team members, reviewing work and providing constructive feedback
- Work closely with managers/partners to manage budgets, timelines, and quality across multiple assignments
- Support wider assurance work where required (for example, reviews and agreed-upon procedures)
Skills and Experience
- Previous external audit experience within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong understanding of audit methodology and file completion requirements
- Confident communicator with a professional, client-focused approach
- Comfortable managing competing priorities and working to tight deadlines
- Experience coaching or reviewing junior colleagues is beneficial
- Good working knowledge of Excel and audit software
Qualifications
- ACA / ACCA part-qualified or qualified (or equivalent)
