The Role: Overview

This is a varied and hands-on position where you will support the delivery of accounts and audit services whilst developing your technical and client-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Preparation
    • Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
    • Assist clients with day-to-day accounting queries
    • Prepare draft financial statements for review
  • Audit Support (Where Applicable)
    • Assist with audit planning and fieldwork
    • Work in line with ISAs (UK) and internal procedures
    • Support audit completion and documentation
  • Tax & Compliance
    • Prepare basic tax computations and submissions
    • Ensure work is compliant with UK accounting and tax regulations
  • Client & Team Interaction
    • Build strong relationships through clear and proactive communication
    • Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate
    • Work collaboratively across teams to deliver high-quality service

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • ACA / ACCA part-qualified or actively studying
  • 1–3 years’ UK practice experience in accounts and/or audit
  • Experience working with a range of SME clients

Technical Skills

  • Good understanding of UK GAAP and basic tax principles
  • Exposure to accounts preparation software (e.g. CCH, IRIS, Sage, Xero, or similar)
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and Office tools

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organised with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple tasks
  • Adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn
