Our client is looking to recruit a talented and ambitious Commercial Disputes Solicitor to join its Leeds team. This is a great opportunity for a solicitor who enjoys running matters with autonomy, values high standards of client care, and wants to build their practice within a supportive, well-resourced firm. You will manage a varied caseload of commercial disputes matters, taking responsibility for progressing files efficiently and delivering a consistently high-quality service.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing client work allocated by the Head of Department or Partners in line with the firm’s procedures and quality standards
  • Progressing matters expeditiously and keeping clients regularly updated on progress and costs
  • Delivering excellent client care in a professional and approachable manner
  • Maintaining confidentiality and security of client and firm information
  • Achieving agreed billing, time recording and performance targets
  • Managing credit control on your matters in liaison with the Accounts team
  • Supporting business development and marketing activity to promote the department and the firm
  • Building strong working relationships internally and with external institutions and organisations
  • Supervising, supporting and developing immediate support staff
  • Taking ownership of your ongoing development and supporting training activity where required

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • 2 to 4 years’ PQE with experience in commercial disputes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Efficient, well organised approach with good attention to detail
  • A pleasant but confident manner, with tact and resilience when dealing with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to mentor, support and encourage other members of the team

Working Arrangements

Full-time: 09:00 to 17:30, 5 days per week. Hybrid working available once probation is passed.
