The Role: Client-Facing Senior Accountant

In this varied and rewarding role, you will act as a trusted advisor to a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting services and commercially focused insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Production of management accounts and financial reports
  • Preparation of corporation tax computations, including capital allowances
  • Completion and review of VAT returns (Xero and cloud-based systems)
  • Oversight and review of bookkeeping assignments
  • Assisting with audit assignments and completion of audit sections
  • Supporting senior management in achieving KPIs and client service targets
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building strong relationships
  • Mentoring and reviewing work of junior team members
  • Identifying business development opportunities and supporting growth initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong blend of technical expertise and client-facing experience.

Essential Requirements:

  • 3–5+ years’ UK practice experience within an accountancy firm
  • ACA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified (finalist level considered)
  • Proven experience preparing limited company accounts and tax computations
  • Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP
  • Experience with cloud accounting software (Xero preferred)
  • Solid understanding of VAT, personal tax, and corporate tax
  • Excellent communication and client management skills
  • Ability to review work and support junior colleagues

Desirable Skills:

  • Exposure to audit assignments
  • Experience contributing to business development or networking activities
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities
