The Role:

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit services, acting as a trusted advisor to clients and supporting the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading audits from planning through to completion for small and medium-sized entities
  • Managing complex audit sections (e.g. stock, deferred tax, group structures, related parties)
  • Preparing audit plans, analytical reviews, and going concern assessments
  • Acting as the main client contact on selected assignments
  • Reviewing work and mentoring junior staff
  • Supporting senior leadership with KPI delivery and resource planning
  • Identifying process improvements and efficiencies
  • Contributing to business development and networking activities

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Requirements:

  • 3–6+ years’ UK accountancy practice experience within audit
  • ACA / ACCA qualified or finalist level
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and audit standards (ISA)
  • Experience leading audits and reviewing junior work
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships effectively
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Exposure to owner-managed businesses and SME clients
  • Experience handling more complex audit assignments
  • Involvement in business development or networking
