Overview

We are supporting a well-established professional services firm to recruit an EFR Audit Assistant Manager. This is a great step for someone who enjoys leading teams, managing multiple assignments, and taking ownership of high-quality delivery across external financial reporting (EFR) focused audit work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage audit assignments from planning through to completion, with a focus on EFR and statutory reporting
  • Lead fieldwork, coordinate teams, and manage budgets, deadlines, and resourcing
  • Review audit files and financial statements, ensuring quality and compliance with relevant standards
  • Oversee risk assessment, audit strategy, and completion meetings, escalating key issues as needed
  • Act as a main point of contact for clients, handling queries and maintaining strong relationships
  • Coach and develop juniors and seniors, providing clear feedback and on-the-job support
  • Support managers/partners with workflow planning, proposals, and wider practice initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong UK practice audit background, operating at Senior or Assistant Manager level
  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) preferred
  • Solid knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS and the audit process through to sign-off
  • Confident reviewer with a strong eye for detail and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Comfortable managing stakeholders and leading teams across multiple engagements
