Audit Senior
Location: Harrogate
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Clear Career Progression & Agile Working
The Opportunity
In this pivotal fee-earning role, you will take direct responsibility for executing statutory audit engagements from initial planning, risk assessment, and program development through to fieldwork execution and drafting completion reports for Directors. Working closely with dynamic client management teams, you will act as the primary point of contact during audit visits while supervising trainees and junior auditors. This position offers exposure to an engaging, diverse client base across North Yorkshire alongside a clear, structured pathway for long-term managerial progression.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
- Qualifications & Experience: ACA or ACCA qualified (or finalist level) with 2-3+ years' UK accountancy practice experience incorporating lead auditor responsibilities.
- Audit Leadership & Technical Mastery: Proven track record planning, managing, and delivering audits in full compliance with UK GAAP and ISAs. Strong understanding of risk assessment and tailored audit methodology for SME and mid-market clients.
- Client Engagement: Confident, professional, and articulate client-facing style with experience managing on-site expectations and handling technical queries smoothly.
- Team Supervision: Ability to delegate effectively, review fieldwork completed by junior staff, and provide constructive, real-time coaching to foster team development.
- IT & Audit Systems: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Word. Hands-on experience using modern cloud-based audit software (experience with MyWorkpapers is highly advantageous).
- Flexibility: Comfortable travelling locally for on-site client audit visits across the regional office network as required.
