Compensation: Up to £75k + bonus + equity

Hawkwood are delighted to be partnering with a mission-driven, VC-backed technology business to hire a Tech Talent Partner following impressive growth and product adoption.

Having successfully built a new platform that is being used by government services globally, they are entering the next phase of growth and making significant investment in the team that will support that expansion.

This is an opportunity to join a genuinely mission-led business where talent is viewed as a strategic advantage. Partnering closely with founders, engineering and product leaders, you'll own hiring across the company's technology organisation, helping attract the people who will shape its next chapter.

The environment is ambitious, fast-moving and highly collaborative. You'll have significant autonomy, direct exposure to senior leadership, and the opportunity to influence not just hiring outcomes, but how the Talent function evolves as the business continues to grow across international markets.

What you'll do:

  • Take end-to-end ownership of hiring across engineering and product, delivering exceptional talent into business-critical roles.
  • Partner with founders and hiring managers to shape hiring strategy, build robust interview processes and deliver high-quality hiring plans.
  • Develop proactive sourcing strategies to identify and engage outstanding technical talent, building pipelines for both immediate and future hiring needs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, providing market insight and data-driven recommendations throughout the hiring process.
  • Champion an outstanding candidate experience, ensuring every interaction reflects the organisation's high standards and values.
  • Strengthen the employer brand by developing creative initiatives that attract exceptional technical talent.
  • Use Ashby and recruitment analytics to monitor hiring performance, identify opportunities for improvement and continuously optimise recruitment processes.
  • Play a key role in developing the Talent function, helping build scalable hiring frameworks that support continued growth.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience hiring across engineering functions within high-growth startup or scale-up environments (ideally Pre-Seed through Series D).
  • Deep knowledge of the technical talent market, with the credibility and network to engage high‑calibre candidates.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders to influence hiring strategy and deliver against ambitious growth plans.
  • A highly proactive, hands‑on approach, combining excellent sourcing capability with strong execution.
  • Confidence using recruitment data and market insights to improve hiring performance and inform stakeholder decisions.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining an exceptional candidate and stakeholder experience.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for joining a mission‑driven technology business where growth directly enables meaningful social impact.
