Hawkwood is partnering with a high growth, Series C fintech that has raised £93 million and is building strong momentum across the UK, Europe and the US. Their market leading product is changing how insurers handle money, from paying claims in seconds to improving treasury oversight and identifying funds that would otherwise stay hidden. With just under 300 employees and a client base growing at pace, the business is entering a new phase of scale while still offering significant scope to shape how things are built.

They are looking for a commercially minded, high credibility People leader who is happiest operating close to the business. This role requires someone who can coach, influence and challenge in equal measure, particularly within Product and Technology where many leaders have stepped up quickly. The right person will bring sound judgement, a pragmatic approach to ambiguity and the confidence to act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders.

What you will be doing:

  • Partner closely with leaders across Product, Technology and Operations, supporting a population of around 150 people, with a core focus on Product and Tech (c.115)
  • Coach managers who have progressed rapidly from individual contributor roles into leadership, strengthening their judgement and people capability
  • Lead on complex employee relations matters, balancing commercial outcomes with a thoughtful and pragmatic approach
  • Introduce greater structure across key people areas, including progression frameworks, capability development and organisational effectiveness
  • Re establish the value of the People Partner function by building credibility and delivering clear commercial impact with senior stakeholders
  • Act as a true number two to the People lead, supporting wider team priorities and improving pace, consistency and decision making

Who we are looking for:

  • Significant experience as a People Partner or Head of People, typically with 10 or more years in People roles
  • A strong track record in scale up environments where growth has required more structure without slowing the business
  • Deep experience partnering Product and Technology teams, with the ability to influence technical stakeholders
  • Strong employee relations expertise, including handling complex or high stakes cases with sound judgement
  • Experience building from the ground up across frameworks, leadership capability, organisational design or people processes
  • A credible, positive and commercially focused style, with the confidence to challenge constructively

This is a high impact role with real breadth and visibility. The immediate remit is hands on and business critical, with a clear path to Head of People as the company continues to scale. It offers the opportunity to join a well backed fintech with strong product market fit, ambitious leadership and meaningful work still ahead.
