People Operations Partner - Global Fintech Scale Up

Hawkwood are excited to be partnering with a high-growth global FinTech expanding their UK operations. Our client are looking to bring in an experienced People Operations professional for an initial 3-month FTC, supporting their growing London team. We’re looking for someone who can ramp quickly and take ownership from day one.

You’ll manage the core employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding, alongside owning HRIS data, leading UK payroll and benefits, and acting as a key point of contact for employees. There’s plenty of opportunity to make an impact beyond the day-to-day too. You’ll help improve and automate People processes, support employee engagement and play an important role in keeping the London office running smoothly as the business continues to grow.

Here’s a taste of what you can expect to be doing:

• Take ownership of onboarding and offboarding end-to-end, ensuring employees have a seamless experience throughout the employee lifecycle
• Support UK payroll processes, including commissions and bonuses, auditing inputs and resolving discrepancies to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery (experience with BambooHR would be preferable)
• Maintain accurate HRIS and payroll data, including EOR employees, managing employee changes and carrying out regular data audits
• Act as a key point of contact for employee queries, managing requests efficiently and providing a high-quality People experience
• Support benefits administration, office operations and employee engagement initiatives, including events, celebrations and company offsites
• Identify manual or inefficient People processes and help improve them through better documentation, automation, tooling and AI

You will be a good fit if you have:

• Around 4-5+ years' experience across People Operations, HR Operations or a broad HR Advisor role, ideally within a fast-paced, scaling business
• Hands-on UK payroll experience, with the confidence to manage payroll inputs, audits, commissions and bonuses, and resolve discrepancies
• Strong experience managing employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, HRIS changes and employee documentation
• The ability to ramp quickly, work independently and navigate the changing priorities that come with a high-growth environment
• A process-driven mindset, with experience identifying inefficiencies and improving People operations through systems, automation or new ways of working
• A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved across People Operations, employee experience and the day-to-day running of a growing office
