Hawkwood is partnering with one of the world's leading AI research and technology organisations to appoint an experienced Talent Acquisition Partner to join its London team.

At the forefront of artificial intelligence and scientific discovery, this organisation brings together some of the world's brightest scientists, researchers, and engineers to develop breakthrough technologies that advance our understanding of the world and transform what AI can achieve.

With a global research presence and continued investment across its scientific and technical divisions, the organisation is expanding its work across areas including materials science, biotechnology, fusion energy and frontier AI.

This is an opportunity to play an important role in building the teams behind some of the most ambitious scientific and technological research taking place globally.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Lead, you will partner closely with senior scientific and technical leaders, taking ownership of hiring across Research Science, Research Engineering and a broad range of highly specialised scientific disciplines.

You'll have significant autonomy over your searches, working alongside an established global Talent Acquisition team to identify and secure exceptional talent across EMEA and occasionally APAC.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Own end-to-end recruitment across highly specialised scientific, research and technical disciplines, predominantly across EMEA.
  • Partner closely with senior researchers, scientists and engineering leaders to understand complex hiring requirements and develop effective talent strategies.
  • Identify and engage exceptional talent globally, developing creative sourcing approaches for particularly niche and challenging searches.
  • Provide market intelligence, talent mapping and strategic advice to influence hiring decisions.
  • Navigate complex recruitment processes, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders while delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Manage sophisticated offer negotiations and help secure some of the world's most sought-after technical talent.

About You

  • We're interested in speaking with experienced Talent Acquisition professionals who bring:
  • In-house experience in technical recruitment, with a strong track record of managing complex, end-to-end hiring processes.
  • Experience recruiting across highly specialised technical, scientific or research-focused disciplines.

Exposure to Research Science, Research Engineering, AI/ML, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals or other R&D-intensive environments would be particularly interesting.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility, influence and challenge senior technical leaders in a collaborative and considered way.
  • Experience independently building talent pipelines for niche roles, using creative sourcing strategies to identify candidates in highly competitive markets.
  • Comfortable balancing multiple hiring priorities, from highly specialised, lower-volume searches to faster-paced technical recruitment.
  • Commercially astute, adaptable and comfortable operating in environments where hiring requirements and priorities can evolve quickly.
  • Confidence managing complex offer negotiations and engaging with highly sought-after senior technical talent.
  • Experience working in-house within a technology, research or science-led organisation would be advantageous.

Whilst direct experience recruiting Research Scientists or Research Engineers would be highly valuable, we're equally interested in individuals who have successfully navigated complex scientific or technical talent markets and can demonstrate the ability to adapt across different disciplines.
