The Opportunity:

Hawkwood is partnering with a growing international professional services business to hire a People Operations Advisor into a newly created role.

With over 400 employees and global teams across four continents, the business has grown significantly while retaining an entrepreneurial, people-first culture. As that growth continues, there is now an opportunity to further strengthen its People function and create greater consistency in the employee experience globally.

The business has already invested in a modern People technology stack spanning recruitment, core HR, performance and development. The next step is making far more of that investment: improving how systems are configured and connected, simplifying processes, identifying opportunities for automation, and ensuring the People team is operating as effectively as possible.

Reporting into a senior People leader, this is a broad global role also offering additional exposure to L&D and HR advisory work. You’ll have genuine scope to bring ideas, challenge existing ways of working and build greater sophistication into how People Operations is delivered.

What you'll do:

  • Take ownership of People Operations processes and help optimise the organisation’s existing People technology stack.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, integrations, automation and the overall employee experience.
  • Help create greater consistency in People processes across the organisation globally.
  • Review existing ways of working and confidently recommend more effective or scalable approaches.
  • Partner closely with colleagues across the People function to ensure systems are being used to their full potential.
  • Support the global L&D function with the operational and systems elements of development programmes, freeing up specialist colleagues to focus on higher-value work.
  • Provide additional HR advisory capacity when required, including supporting the existing HR Advisor during periods of leave or increased demand.
  • Help build a People Operations function that can continue to scale alongside an ambitious and growing international business.

You will bring:

  • Strong People Operations experience, ideally gained within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial or scaling organisation.
  • Experience working with People technology and a track record of getting more value from HR systems, processes and workflows.
  • A strong interest in how AI and automation can improve People Operations, with the ability to identify practical opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual administration and enhance the employee experience.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset, with a natural curiosity around how processes and systems can work better.
  • The confidence and maturity to challenge established approaches constructively and build a compelling case for change.
  • Strong ownership and the ability to operate effectively within a lean People team.
  • Some exposure to HR advisory or employee relations activity, or the appetite to develop in this area.

We recognise how challenging this current job market is for candidates, and Hawkwood are therefore striving to provide the best candidate experience we can. If you are interested in this opportunity, we kindly request that you apply via this LinkedIn advert, as opposed to sending us an email or LinkedIn direct message. We are eager to ensure that each candidate application is considered fairly, and receives a consistent experience. Unfortunately, we cannot ensure this standard if you inquire about a role via email or LinkedIn message, as it falls outside of our established process.
