Hawkwood are partnering with one of the world’s most successful hedge funds to hire a Campus (Tech) Recruiter. This is a high-impact role focused on identifying, engaging and building relationships with some of the best emerging technical talent across Europe.

You will sit at the intersection of academia and industry, developing partnerships with leading universities, student societies and academic communities across institutions such as Oxbridge, ETH Zurich, École Polytechnique, ENS, HEC and CentraleSupélec.

The mandate is simple but demanding: ensure the firm consistently identifies and engages exceptional emerging talent across Software Engineering and other technical disciplines.

This is not a traditional campus recruitment role. You will be responsible for designing and delivering high-impact programmes and events, proactively mapping exceptional technical talent, building university partnerships and using data to understand which activities are generating the strongest talent pipelines.

You will also have the opportunity to attend and deliver events across some of the leading universities, conferences and academic communities in Europe.

What you will be doing:

  • Design and deliver high-impact campus programmes and events, including Spring Weeks, STEM programmes, hackathons, technical competitions and university roadshows
  • Build long-term relationships with leading universities, student societies, faculty and other academic communities across the UK and Europe
  • Proactively map and engage high-potential technical students early in their academic journeys, building relationships well before they enter formal recruitment processes
  • Partner with senior engineers and internal subject-matter experts to create compelling technical content, workshops, coding challenges and other candidate experiences
  • Identify and engage internal speakers, mentors and technical leaders to represent the firm at campus events and programmes
  • Track engagement, pipeline and conversion data to understand what is working and continuously improve the firm's campus strategy
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of campus activities, working with internal teams and external partners to ensure programmes are executed to an exceptionally high standard
  • Represent the firm externally at universities, conferences and other key academic engagements

What they are looking for:

  • 3+ years’ experience in campus recruiting, early-careers programme management or technical talent acquisition
  • Experience hiring within a high-performance environment such as technology, quantitative finance, proprietary trading or a similarly high-bar organisation
  • Strong understanding of the European university landscape and collegiate technical talent
  • Experience designing and delivering structured early-talent programmes, events or recruiting campaigns
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the credibility to engage students, academics and senior internal stakeholders
  • Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple programmes, stakeholders and events simultaneously
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience using pipeline and conversion data to inform recruiting activity
  • Excellent judgement and a strong instinct for identifying exceptional talent

This role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders internally and a genuine opportunity to shape how one of the most successful firms in the world identifies and engages the next generation of technical talent.

We recognise how challenging the current market is, and we are committed to providing a consistent and fair experience for all applicants.
