Human Resources Business Partner - Systematic Hedge Fund

Hawkwood is partnering with one of the fastest-growing quantitative and systematic investment managers – a technology-driven firm implementing a scientific approach to financial investments. This organisation has experienced significant growth, expanding from 750 to 1500 employees over the past 18 months, with ambitious plans to grow to 3000 employees in the next few years. To support this growth, they are building a high-performing People, Culture, and Talent team to deliver a world-class employee experience that supports their continued success and innovation.

About the Role

This is a pivotal HR Business Partner role within a fast-growing organisation. You will act as a strategic partner to business leaders, aligning HR initiatives with organisational objectives. Your remit will span the full HR lifecycle, from organisational design and workforce planning to coaching managers and embedding performance frameworks. You will work closely with global HR colleagues and subject matter experts across Talent Development, HR Systems, and Talent Acquisition to deliver effective, forward-thinking HR solutions that enable the business to scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with managers and employees to align business and HR strategies, driving organisational effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Provide strategic HR advice and coaching on a range of day-to-day people matters.
  • Lead and deliver high-impact initiatives including workforce planning, organisational design, and change management.
  • Facilitate impactful feedback and development conversations, ensuring performance frameworks are aligned with business priorities.
  • Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence (Talent Development, HRIS, Talent Acquisition) to deliver seamless, scalable solutions.
  • Promote knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement within the HR function.

About You

  • Must have experience working within Financial Services
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner within complex, fast-scaling organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-jurisdictional employment law (particularly EMEA), with hands-on experience in navigating complex employee relations cases.
  • Critical thinker with a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple competing priorities effectively.
  • Skilled at using data and insights to inform decision-making.
  • Experience with Workday and HR data/analytics tools preferred.
