Hawksworth UK are recruiting now for a Site Reliability Engineering Lead to join an innovative technology company developing cutting-edge cloud connectivity solutions that are transforming the transport industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the evolution of a modern Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment, driving cloud strategy, automation, reliability and security while working alongside Software Engineers and Data Scientists on next-generation products.
Location: Woking, Surrey (Hybrid – 2 days in the office)
Salary: Up to £90k + Great package
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with large cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI.
- Leading technical initiatives including roadmap input, cross-team collaboration and mentoring.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and version control e.g. Git.
- Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills at least one strong purpose programming language (Go or Python preferred).
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK etc.
- Engineering mid-set, Problem solver, collaborative, Good communicator.
You’ll play a key role in designing scalable, secure cloud platforms, improving platform reliability, automating deployments and shaping the engineering roadmap.
