Hawksworth are partnering with a global Financial Services company to hire a Medical Underwriter in Group Protection. This is a Permanent hire, looking for an experienced Medical Underwriter, Bristol based on a hybrid basis, salary range £38k to £47k but with a range of up to £56,400 for a senior level candidate. You will also receive a 10-15% bonus (Performance related), plus 9% non-contribution pension plus they will match you up to a further 6% (so total max potential pension of 21%), plus considerable holiday allowance and further benefits.
We are looking for an experienced Medical Underwriter to help us deliver expertise in medical underwriting, with a recognised underwriting authority. Ideally within Life, Income Protection and Critical Illness.
What we are looking for:
- Experience of working within a Medical Underwriting Team and making an accurate assessment of medical evidence gathered.
- Able to underwrite for multiple Protection product lines.
- Understanding of underwriting manuals and processes.
- Understanding of the Protection products which require underwriting input.
- Maintains underwriting knowledge with industry and market changes.
- Inquisitive and customer-centric approach with an ability to think outside of the norm and challenge existing processes.
- GR1 or other industry recognised qualification (desired).
