Hawksworth UK are supporting a leading global financial firm who specialise in wealth and retirement services, including protection needs, with a new job opportunity in the UK. We are hiring for a Portfolio Architect for an initial 9-month Fixed-Term Contract. The role is offering up to £120k + Car Allowance + Bonus + Package. London location. Hybrid working is expected, with a majority of the work being remote and travel required a few times per month.

The position involves reporting into the head of architecture. You will be a seasoned Technical Architect with deep data and technology skills in cloud and modern architecture. A good business understanding, ideally in the financial services industry, is essential. You will be experienced in defining data strategies and leading architectural transformations that support customer-centricity, digital experience, and data-driven decision making.

You will be responsible for:

  • Owning the architectural roadmap planning and capability evolution for the IT portfolio.
  • Integrating architecture and financial insight into coherent, long-term portfolio direction.
  • Ensuring all initiatives across the portfolio meet architectural principles and have clear business outcomes considering compliance requirements and financial planning constraints.
  • Inputting into architecture governance, design assurance, and decision support across the portfolio.
  • Developing financial models for technology investment across short, medium, and long-term timelines.
  • Analysing TCO, ROI, cost trajectories, depreciation cycles, and commercial impacts of architectural decisions.
  • Working closely with all business areas to ensure coherent and sustainable change, shaping decisions involving cost and architectural risk across diverse stakeholder groups, and identifying technology and financial architectural risks while communicating cost and value implications.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Tenure as an Enterprise/Technical Architect/Portfolio Architect.
  • Good data, cloud, and enterprise technology experience.
  • Degree level education or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • TOGAF/BCS Certification desirable.
  • Experience of not only the architectural responsibilities but also the financial and business impact, working with business owners on guiding and advising on all aspects of the portfolio from an architectural standpoint.
  • Good influencing skills and communication skills at all levels are mandatory for this assignment.
  • PMO, analytical, and reporting skills.
