Hawksworth is recruiting an IT Network Engineer for a global Investment Banking client in London.
Term: 6 months initially
Location: London / Liverpool Street
Rate: Inside IR35 – Up to £668 per day
The client has invested significantly in latency-sensitive electronic trading networking, including hardware refresh and architecture redesign. As a Network Engineer, you should have a proven track record of delivering and maintaining stable network environments. Excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of trading infrastructure are essential. You will collaborate directly with developers and application support teams to understand application interactions with the infrastructure, aiding in successful implementation and migration to the new architecture.
You will join a small, agile, multi-skilled team responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the London and Trading networks, making improvements as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
- CCIE qualification preferred (candidates without CCIE but with equivalent expertise will be considered)
- Experience in highly available, latency-sensitive network environments using multiple network (switching & routing) and security (firewall, Web Gateway & LTM) technologies
- Experience gathering requirements from business and working with technical teams to design solutions balancing security, availability, and resiliency
- Knowledge of market brokers & direct market connectivity
- Experience implementing designs into production under Change Control
- Hands-on experience with Arista architectures and operating systems
- Strong knowledge of core routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and IP transmission modes (Unicast, Multicast)
- Proficiency in low-level log & packet analysis
- Scripting and network automation knowledge is desirable
