Hawksworth UK are hiring 1 Lead Ruby on Rails Engineer to join a forward-thinking, engineering-led financial services organisation transforming its core platforms.

The Roles

  • Lead Engineer – £110k–£115k + 10–15% bonus + excellent package

Location

  • Hybrid - London - x1 day a week on-site

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building and evolving a modern Ruby on Rails mortgage platform
  • Designing scalable, secure, and resilient systems used at real-world scale
  • Working in product-aligned, empowered teams with true ownership
  • Driving CI/CD, DevOps practices, and automation across the stack (Lead)
  • Setting technical direction and mentoring engineers

Tech Stack

  • Ruby on Rails | MySQL | JavaScript (React desirable) | CI/CD (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab) | Cloud (Azure)

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong Ruby on Rails experience (MVC, APIs)
  • Solid grounding in software engineering best practices
  • Experience with agile, DevOps, and modern delivery models
  • Passion for building high-quality, secure, production-ready systems (Lead)
