Rate: Negotiable Overview We are currently recruiting for an experienced Groundworker / Machine Operator with a valid SMSTS qualification to join a project in Ryhope.

This is an immediate start with approximately 11 weeks' work, offering a negotiable rate depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a range of groundwork duties including drainage, kerbing, ducting, and general civil engineering works.
  • Operate plant machinery safely and efficiently as required.
  • Assist with the day-to-day supervision and coordination of site activities.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with health and safety regulations and project specifications.
  • Conduct daily site briefings and promote a safe working environment.
  • Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and operatives to ensure work progresses efficiently.

Requirements

  • Valid SMSTS qualification (essential).
  • Valid CPCS or NPORS plant operator qualification.
  • Previous experience in both groundwork and machine operation.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and site management responsibilities.
  • Ability to lead by example and work effectively as part of the site team.
