Financial Controller
The Company
Hawks Crane Hire Ltd, established in 2014, operate a crane hire fleet from a newly refurbished luxury office near Longfield, Dartford. The company runs a hire fleet of twenty-four cranes nationwide.It also provides in-house and 3rd party accredited training through it’s training division.

The Role
The company has a requirement for a Financial Controller, the successful candidate must be qualified in either of ACCA/CIMA, and be able to use either of the Sage or Xero accountancy packages. The candidate must have at least 3+ years’ experience in an accountancy role.
Currently the company secretary undertakes the payroll and invoicing duties but when the company secretary is on annual leave, this role would be expected to cover those duties on an interim basis.The company secretary also processes receipts from the various sales and operational personnel.
Responsibilities
- Overall control and responsibility for the accounting function within the company.
- The primary user/administrator of the accountancy package.
- Duties include Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Credit Control, and General Ledger.
- Control of the bank accounts and payment set-ups.
- Managing the company’s various GBP & Euro bank accounts.
- Monthly VAT, PAYE & CIS returns.
- Month End supplier payments.
Skills & Characteristics Required
- Strong Excel, Sage or Xero software understanding and knowledge.
- A reliable, honest & trustworthy character.
- At least 5+ Years’ experience in a similar accountancy role.
- Good numerical, analytical and literacy skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication Skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Strong adoption for the latest technology
- Discreet and tactful when dealing with confidential information.
- CIMA or ACCA qualified/part-qualified accountant.
Remuneration
- £60,000 pro rata salary based on a 5x days a week, 8x hours a day.
- 24 days of annual leave plus bank holiday.
- 5% Company Pension Contribution.
- Company Laptop.
The Job
- Full time but Part time (2-3x days a week) would be considered.
- At least three days working from an office (when working five days a week).
- At least two days working from an office (when working three days a week).
