Radiant Catalyst Nursery is a modern and inclusive early years education provider committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred learning in a safe and nurturing environment. As we prepare to launch our flagship facility in Nottingham, we are seeking a proactive, experienced, and people-oriented School Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and support the delivery of outstanding care and education for children aged 0–5 years.
About the Role
As School Manager, you will play a vital role in:
• Ensuring the smooth daily operation of the nursery
• Leading and supporting staff to maintain high educational and operational standards
• Acting as the primary liaison with parents, team members, regulatory bodies, and community partners
• Ensuring strict compliance with Ofsted regulations and UK childcare legislation
• Supporting strategic planning, continuous improvement, and performance monitoring
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee staff recruitment, induction, rota planning, and performance management
• Ensure full compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, safeguarding standards, and GDPR regulations
• Collaborate with educators to implement structured routines, activity schedules, and learning assessments
• Manage the admissions process and parent onboarding experience
• Supervise operational activities including attendance, incident reporting, hygiene, security, and health & safety compliance
• Monitor and report on KPIs such as child development progress, staff effectiveness, and parent satisfaction
• Organise training sessions, workshops, and continuous professional development (CPD) opportunities for staff
• Foster strong, transparent relationships with parents and respond promptly to any concerns or feedback
• Support the implementation of digital systems including online enrolment, communication apps, and monitoring tools
• Build partnerships with local schools, businesses, and community organisations for outreach and collaboration
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in nursery, school, or early years setting management
• Level 3 or higher qualification in Early Years Education (or recognised equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of UK childcare regulations, the EYFS curriculum, and safeguarding protocols
• Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with administrative duties, budgeting, and digital platforms used in early years settings
• Paediatric First Aid and an enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom
Preferred Skills
• Experience setting up or managing a new early years setting
• Working knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks
• Awareness of inclusive and multicultural learning practices
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
• Tech-savvy and comfortable with digital tools such as parent portals, nursery management systems, or CRMs
